Mongolian Distemper with Silk Brocade, Depicting the Buddha Shakyamuni
This item was independently appraised as quite possibly being 17th Century. We are conservatively offering it here as 18th Century and are pleased to provide the buyer with an exceptional value.
Mongolian Buddhist paintings of this period are rare, as most were destroyed during communist rule. Depicted in this fine work of Buddhist art, the Buddha Shakyamuni is flanked by his two most faithful disciples.

Condition Age appropriate wear including creasing and surface abrasion, as well as some pigment loss and discoloration.
